Bastion Health HMO, a renowned health insurance company in Nigeria, has solidified its commitment to women’s health and employee welfare by participating as one of the sponsors of the 2023 Human Resources Excellence Africa (HREA) event.

The HREA event is the biggest annual platform for HR professionals and industry experts across Nigeria to network, discuss challenges within the industry and proffer solutions for improvement. It also provided Bastion Health with a unique opportunity to showcase its products and services to the core audience while shedding light on the challenges faced by women experiencing menopause while working. Recognizing the significant impact that menopause can have on women’s overall well-being and productivity, Bastion Health HMO lead the way in educating HR personnel on how healthy workplace environments can boost overall employee outputs.

The Managing Director of Bastion Health HMO, Naomi Aduku, took centre stage to anchor a session focusing on a vital but often overlooked topic “Menopause in the workplace”. Highlighting women’s health, her thought-provoking session addressed the various physical, emotional, and professional challenges that women may encounter during this phase of their lives. Aduku emphasized the importance of creating inclusive workplaces that accommodate the unique needs of menopausal women. She highlighted the significance of awareness and understanding among employers, colleagues, and HR departments to provide appropriate support systems and resources.

Including providing free breast and cervical cancer screenings annually.  Their participation in the HREA reaffirmed their dedication to advocating for comprehensive healthcare coverage and support for menopausal women in the workplace. By shedding light on menopause in the workplace, the company has taken a significant step towards breaking down societal barriers and fostering a more inclusive and supportive work environment for women.
