Bastion Health, a leading healthcare provider, and R-Jolad Hospital, a renowned healthcare institution have developed corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility and affordability across underserved communities in Nigeria.
Under Bastion Health’s flagship CSR program, Project Access, Bastion Health is committed to bringing essential primary healthcare services to children in rural and low-income settlements, with a special focus on public schools. This comprehensive initiative aims to address critical healthcare needs by providing renovations, donations, and maintenance of healthcare units within schools. Project Access aspires to support at least one underserved school in each of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.
As part of this initiative, Bastion Health has undertaken significant efforts to renovate healthcare facilities in several public schools across Lagos. The selected schools include Akinbaiye Primary School, Isolo Senior High School and Ansar Ud Deen Primary School in Isolo, Arowosegbe Primary School in Alapere, and Saka Tinubu Memorial High School in Agege. Additionally, Bastion Health has generously donated medical supplies to benefit these schools ensuring that essential healthcare resources are available where they are needed most.
The Project Access initiative has been warmly received and commended by residents in the beneficiary communities, who appreciate Bastion Health’s dedication to addressing healthcare disparities through tangible support and resources.
In parallel, R-Jolad Hospital has undertaken a significant CSR effort focused on women’s health, particularly breast and cervical cancer awareness and screening. In partnership with the KB Club and the Lagos State Ministry of Health, R-Jolad Hospital organized a free breast and cervical cancer screening outreach event for 100 women of childbearing age. This initiative, held on October 22, 2022, at the Christ Gospel Apostolic Church Hall in Egbeda, targeted women from low-income households in the Egbeda and Agege areas.
R-Jolad Hospital’s contribution to this initiative has been invaluable, with the provision of medical supplies totaling N1,000,000 and the deployment of medical personnel to conduct screenings and provide educational sessions on breast and cervical cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment options.
Through these CSR initiatives, Bastion Health and R-Jolad Hospital are demonstrating their unwavering commitment to making good healthcare accessible and affordable for underserved communities in Nigeria.
