Bastion Health Takes Strides Against Maternal Mortality, Joining Forces with MRHR for a Vital Cause

Maternal mortality remains a critical issue in Nigeria, where a staggering 82,000 childbirth-related deaths were reported in 2020 alone, making it the fourth-highest country in the world for this devastating statistic. This alarming number equates to the tragic scenario of a plane crashing every single day for an entire year.

In response to this crisis demanding urgent attention, Bastion Health has taken a significant step forward by partnering with the Maternal and Reproductive Health Research (MRHR) collective for a unique initiative named “Run for Her.” This collaboration aims to raise awareness and drive action to combat maternal mortality in Nigeria.

The “Run for Her” initiative kicked off at i-Fitness Gym in Lekki and concluded at Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island, symbolizing a collective stride towards a healthier future for mothers across the nation.

Bastion Health, renowned for making quality healthcare affordable and accessible while spearheading transformative changes in the African healthcare landscape, has a deep commitment to addressing health challenges in Nigeria. This commitment extends beyond treating ailments to prioritizing wellness and preventive healthcare as integral components of their vision.

Partnering with the MRHR collective aligns with Bastion Health’s mission to support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal #3, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all, specifically targeting the reduction of maternal mortality.

For Bastion Health, participation in the MRHR event signifies more than just a social initiative—it is a platform to reinforce a positive brand image and engage actively in social causes that resonate with their core values. By demonstrating dedication to creating a positive impact beyond healthcare services, Bastion Health is paving the way for meaningful change in the communities they serve.

The partnership with the MRHR collective not only raises awareness about the maternal mortality pandemic but also initiates crucial conversations that can drive actionable solutions within communities and among stakeholders.

As Bastion Health continues to champion the cause against maternal mortality, their collaboration with the MRHR collective stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to promoting a healthier and safer future for mothers in Nigeria.
