Responsibilities:
 Financial Reporting and Compliance:
  • Preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).  
  • Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and statutory requirements.  
  • Coordination and management of annual audits and liaising with external auditors.
Accounting Operations:
  • Oversight of daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Implementation and maintenance of robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity of financial data.
  • Supporting cash flow management, forecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure adequate liquidity and financial stability.
Strategic Financial Management:  
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.  
  • Development and monitoring of key financial metrics to assess organizational performance.  
  • Advise on investment activities and contribute strategic insights for profit optimization. Tax Strategy, Compliance, and Risk Management
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing and payment of tax obligations, including CIT, VAT, WHT, and other statutory taxes, in compliance with applicable regulations.
  •  Development and implementation of tax-efficient strategies to minimize liabilities while ensuring full statutory compliance.  Identification, assessment, and mitigation of tax-related risks, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to regulatory requirements to avoid penalties and disputes.
  • Management of relationships with tax authorities and tax consultants, in addition to responding to inquiries, audits, and regulatory changes effectively.
Process Improvement and Systems Optimization:
  • Drive continuous assessment and improvement of financial reporting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.  
  • Ensure effective implementation and utilization of accounting software and tools.  
  • Ongoing collaboration with the Business Transformation team to implement automation tools to streamline processes and reduce manual workload.
  • Ensuring the financial reporting process is scalable and capable of handling business growth, changes in accounting standards, or new regulatory requirements.
  • Identification and implementation of best practices in financial reporting to ensure consistency and quality across the Group.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the Finance Department. 
 
Experience and Qualification
 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
Certifications:  
  • Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is required.
Experience:  
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior accounting or financial management role.
  • Experience in the healthcare, insurance, or technology sectors is an added advantage.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience as the Financial Controller, or equivalent, of a medium-sized organization, or as the back-up to the Financial Controller of a large corporate.
  • Experience with any of the Big 4 is also an added advantage. Skills: •Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
  •  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
